The Private Internet Access (PIA) VPN Client for Ubuntu downloads as a .RUN file — and by default will go to your “Downloads” folder.
Tip: For ease of typing, I rename the file to VPN.run
Type ./VPN.run
Open Terminal (You can search for it by typing Terminal in the search)
Type cd ~/Downloads
Type chmod +x VPN.run
